Heat Pump Repairs Comet
Heat Pump Repairs in Comet by Reyds Refrigeration. Diagnosis and repair of hot water, pool and commercial heat pumps — controllers, sensors, fans, compressors, pressure faults and water-side problems.
Our repair work in Comet is carried out by qualified refrigeration technicians who diagnose the actual fault before quoting, so you pay for the repair you need rather than a guessed part.
Comet: Older suburb bordering industry; we handle both home fridges and small commercial refrigeration here.
How we approach heat pump repairs
- Verify inlet and outlet water temperature rise across the condenser
- Confirm water flow rate — most 'not heating' calls are actually flow or circulation faults
- Check high and low pressure switch operation and refrigerant charge
- Test the defrost cycle, four-way valve and evaporator fan operation
- Inspect the controller, temperature probes and element back-up wiring
- Check the geyser, thermostat, non-return valves and pipe insulation
What you get
- Hot water restored without replacing a working unit
- Up to two-thirds less electricity than a resistive element
- Correct water temperature stability for showers, kitchens and pools
- Longer compressor life through annual servicing
Repair detail for Comet
Heat pump performance depends as much on plumbing as on the unit: undersized pipework, missing insulation, wrong circulation-pump placement or a failed non-return valve will make a perfectly healthy unit look broken.
Repairs are quoted after diagnosis. We isolate whether the fault is electrical, mechanical, refrigerant-related or control-related, then repair the cause — a leak is located and sealed before gas is charged, and a failed component is replaced with a correctly rated part.
Comet is inside our core service radius from Boksburg, so we can usually attend same-day for urgent work and next-day for scheduled visits.
