What is Reyds Refrigeration?

Premium HVAC, refrigeration, and cold-room maintenance services for residential and commercial clients in Boksburg and the East Rand.

Do you charge a callout fee?

A callout covers travel and a full on-site diagnostic. It is quoted upfront, and the repair itself is quoted separately before any work starts.

How long does an aircon service take?

A domestic split system service typically takes 45 to 90 minutes per unit. Ducted, cassette and commercial systems take longer because filters, drains and controls are less accessible.

My aircon just needs gas — can you top it up?

Refrigerant does not get consumed; if it is low, it has leaked. We pressure-test to find the leak, repair it, then vacuum and charge to the manufacturer's weight. Topping up a leaking system means paying again next season.

Is a heat pump worth it instead of a geyser element?

For most households, yes. A heat pump delivers roughly three units of heat per unit of electricity, so hot water costs around a third of what an element costs to run.

Can you install a cold room in an existing building?

Yes. We survey the space, calculate the heat load, then build the room from insulated panels with the right door, floor build-up and refrigeration plant, and commission it with a temperature pull-down report.

How cold should a cold room and a freezer room be?

Chillers typically hold 0 °C to 4 °C depending on the product; freezer rooms hold −18 °C or colder. Both should be stable, not just occasionally correct — fluctuation is what damages stock.

Do you provide documentation for health inspections?

Yes. Maintenance contracts include an asset register, recorded temperatures and a service history per unit, which is what inspectors and HACCP audits require.

Do you work on equipment installed by someone else?

Routinely. We audit the installation, document its condition and set points, then either repair it or put it onto a maintenance schedule.

What payment and quoting process do you follow?

Diagnosis first, written quote second, work third. Larger installations are quoted with equipment, materials and commissioning itemised.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Boksburg plus Benoni, Germiston, Edenvale, Kempton Park, Alberton, Brakpan, Springs and the wider East Rand.
