What is Reyds Refrigeration?

Premium HVAC, refrigeration, and cold-room maintenance services for residential and commercial clients in Boksburg and the East Rand.

How quickly can you attend a heat pump installation call in Comet?

Comet is within our standard service area from Boksburg. Emergency and breakdown calls are prioritised and usually attended the same working day; scheduled installations and maintenance visits are booked to suit your trading or household hours.

What does a heat pump installation visit include?

A technician diagnoses the system on site — measurements, pressures, electrical readings and a physical inspection — then explains what has failed and what it will cost before any work is done. Heat pump performance depends as much on plumbing as on the unit: undersized pipework, missing insulation, wrong circulation-pump placement or a failed non-return valve will make a perfectly healthy unit look broken.

Do you work on commercial sites in Comet?

Yes. Roughly half our work is commercial: restaurants, supermarkets, butcheries, hotels, warehouses, factories and offices. Commercial clients can add the site to a maintenance contract for priority response and documented temperature records.

Do you quote before installing?

Always. We do a site assessment, calculate the load, confirm electrical capacity and pipe routing, then issue a written quotation listing equipment, materials and commissioning. Nothing is ordered before you approve it.

How we approach heat pump installation

Verify inlet and outlet water temperature rise across the condenser
Confirm water flow rate — most 'not heating' calls are actually flow or circulation faults
Check high and low pressure switch operation and refrigerant charge
Test the defrost cycle, four-way valve and evaporator fan operation
Inspect the controller, temperature probes and element back-up wiring
Check the geyser, thermostat, non-return valves and pipe insulation

What you get

Hot water restored without replacing a working unit
Up to two-thirds less electricity than a resistive element
Correct water temperature stability for showers, kitchens and pools
Longer compressor life through annual servicing

Installation detail for Comet

Heat pump performance depends as much on plumbing as on the unit: undersized pipework, missing insulation, wrong circulation-pump placement or a failed non-return valve will make a perfectly healthy unit look broken.

Every installation starts with a load calculation and a site survey: available electrical capacity, pipe routing, drainage, mounting positions and access for future servicing. We commission the system with measured readings and hand over a set-up sheet so future service visits start from known values.
