Aircon Leaking Water in Comet

Aircon Leaking Water is one of the faults we attend most often in Comet. It is a symptom rather than a diagnosis — several very different failures produce the same behaviour, which is why measurement matters more than guesswork.

Below are the causes we actually find on site, the process we use to separate them, and how quickly we can get to you. If stock, trading or comfort is at risk, phone 069 268 0988 rather than waiting for a form reply.

What we typically find

  • Blocked or incorrectly sloped condensate drain
  • Iced evaporator melting past the tray
  • Cracked drip tray or displaced insulation
  • Failed condensate pump on a cassette or ducted unit
[diagnostic_protocol]

How we isolate the fault

  • Measure supply and return air temperature to confirm the actual delta-T across the evaporator
  • Read suction and discharge pressures and compare against the refrigerant's saturation table
  • Check running amps against the compressor nameplate to spot mechanical or electrical drag
  • Inspect the indoor coil, filters and blower wheel for restriction and biological fouling
  • Test capacitors, contactors, PCB outputs and sensor resistance values
  • Trace and pressure-test for refrigerant leaks with nitrogen and electronic detection
